Hi Rachel,

Thanks for stopping by. You are correct, getting "dumped" by a fellow Christian does seem to add a bit more zing to the sting. Yet, it happens and when it does, I try to remember whose I am. I belong to God and despite everything that man may do, or say to me, God loves me more and best. I'd tell your friend not to waste time with those that cannot appreciate their worth. Check out Proverbs 13:20 and Isaiah 26: 3-4. Encourage your friend to keep their focus on God.

Blessings!

Thanks for being so real about this topic. I was thinking about how easily we can be disappointed in being "dumped" by fellow Christians. When the world rejects us, we expect it, but getting hurt by a brother or sister in Christ seems to sting a bit worse. Any good verses come to mind in relation to this aspect of being a "dumpee?" I could use them for a friend who is hurting.

Thanks!

Gwyn,

You're on point! It's all about how God sees us. We should live our lives to please Him and not worry about whether or not someone else sees our worth.

Thanks everyone for weighing in!

Thanks for pointing us to God and His view of us versus putting too much into another human being and what they think of us!

I am so grateful that the Lord is using this article to move beyond the original scope of relationships to broader areas, like the workplace and organizations that we may try to get into as well.

Just this Sunday, I was speaking to someone about rejection that sometimes happen as we seek to join with organizations. We were specifically talking about greek-letter organizations and friends that we knew that had been rejected. I have my own opinion about that but it's not for this forum. :-) Nevertheless, these organizations do exist, along with MANY other types, and membership is often subjective. The thing is this - man is man. He will reject you sometimes and embrace you at other times. We don't have to worry about this with God.

Have you ever experienced this: sometimes somebody will seek you out when you have something to offer and reject you when you are no longer able/willing to provide what they seek? Did it hurt you when they walked away? I've experienced that and I felt rejected (and used).

No matter if you faced that scenario, Rejection is rejection. It still hurts. But, thank God we have a Father that never rejects us. Now, let's return the favor and NEVER REJECT Him. God is so very good to us. We should never reject Him, defer Him or put Him on hold while we do other things.

Something to think about huh?

Thank you for the sweet reminder of the great love of our Father; and though man may reject us, as His word says He takes great delight in us, and sings over us. We (I) need to claim this in the difficult times of rejection. Thank you Sanya for my blessing today!

The words of this article are not only an inspiration but they are an encouragement as well. The article gives hope to persons who have been too long living in the mode of rejection. And as you so very well put it, allowing the adversary of our souls to have too much influence over us. In this reading I am assured that eventhough man might reject me God is into me… And I have no doubt that He cares. Thank you for allowing the Lord to use you in this effort. This is good news.

Best Regards
