Thanks for sharing this movie clip.

Sadly, it brings back tough memories of dating before I let God be my Matchmaker. It was exhausting handling all the rejection and trying to win favor with guys in my own strength.

A wise woman told me that God could cause me to be noticed by the perfect man He had in mind for me. Until we met, I just needed to spend time letting Jesus nurture my soul and fill me up with the love I was seeking. This took the pressure of off any guy to make me feel complete–a job only God can handle!

Over time, I began to ask the Lord to mold my character into a wife of nobility for whoever my future mate was, and that He was shaping my future husband’s character too.

Soon, dating became fun instead of arduous because I relinquished control of the outcome to God. Eventually, He surprised me with a wonderful man! I know God’s plan for your life is just as glorious.

Be encouraged! If you have not met your husband yet it means God is working on creating something really special in both your lives. Continue to pray for the Lord to have His perfect way, and that you would both know God’s will early on in your dating relationship.

Remember–no peace means God is trying to tell you something. Pray and obey whatever He tells you to do. You must trust and believe Jesus always has your best interest in mind.

Blessings,

I am 26 years old, single, and a graduate student. I have not been in a meaningful relationship and sometimes this worries me. I have not date and that worries me too. I have made excuses saying that I have not dated because I am too shy. However, deep, deep down I do not really believe that. I have believed for many years that I have not dated because no man wants to date someone like me. I am overweight, I have frizzy hair, and I just don’t think I’m that pretty. I have moments where I think I’m pretty but, that is usually only after spending hours during my hair and makeup and choosing the right outfit.
For health reasons, I have started losing weight but, I am still considerably overweight. so the weight is coming off but I still have not dated or even tried due to fear of rejection.
I know God has a plan for me, but I get so discouraged. I even had one guy that I was talking to ask me why I have not been in a relationship as an adult. He didn’t say this in a mean way but i know that guys think this is strange. I am society thinks that you should be married and have kids by a certain age. And I guess that is where I have formed this idea.
so, I am patiently waiting for God to send my true love to me. Because deep down I know that the man that God wants me to be with will accept me for who I am and not what I look like.

i do agree with Mary Singer. i believe that in as much as we seek the perfect husband we must work on making ourselves the perfect wives. we must develop emotional strength and not always look up to the guys for self worth. God always has wonderful plans for us we shouldn’t be too anxious and impatient i believe for myself as God has told me that my marriage would be glorious. i have dated once and had one informal and painful other relationship but it is well. i have learnt a lot from it and just bless God that i still have hope.

you are blessed,
ama mansa
